The Magnetic Detector is an application designed to detect and quantify the presence of ferromagnetic materials using the magnetic sensor integrated into mobile devices. By measuring the intensity of the magnetic field in close proximity, this tool provides readings in units of μT (microteslas). The Earth's magnetic field typically fluctuates around 49μT under standard environmental conditions, and any disturbance in this field caused by the proximity of metallic objects will result in increased intensity readings.

This app is particularly useful for identifying and locating metallic objects within a specified area. It leverages the inherent property of metals to generate detectable magnetic fields, allowing precise measurements to be made.

In addition, the Magnetic Detector can also be used to discover hidden magnetic fields and wood studs beneath walls or plasterboard. As you move your device along the wall, the needle on the screen will move accordingly, and when it reaches its limit, a warning beep will be heard.

The key features of this app include an active detection beep when the intensity limit is reached, automatic storage of time and measurement readings, and a gauge indicating the magnitude of the magnetic field in μT.
